I hope ya'll had a lovely Christmas! I'm going to start by posting the shopping deets of my Christmas table, then share my family photos.
My Christmas Dish Pattern
My Christmas table setting is pretty similar from year to year. Every year from November-December, Walmart has Better Homes and Gardens Christmas dishes with similar, coordinating patterns. They've had a matching theme of dishes for the last decade!
On the Walmart website this year I saw them labeled as "Better Homes and Gardens Heritage Collection," but on Replacements Ltd they are called "Better Homes and Gardens Winter Forest." They both refer to the same coordinated line of dishes, serveware, and harder to find items like wax warmers and tablecloths. If you are able to find these dishes at Walmart they are much cheaper than anywhere else--something like $2 a plate, $12 for a serving bowl, etc. They are dishwasher and microwave safe, which I love! The Christmas tree salt and pepper shakers and large platter are also part of this collection.
In addition to the "Christmas Dishes" links posted above, you can also find these items on eBay. I think the most fun part about this line of dishes is that they come out with a new salad plate design every year. The salad plates each have unique painted Christmas scenes that are SO pretty!! I look forward to seeing the new designs each year!
My Gold Flatware
My gold flatware is actually two sets of similar, but unmatching antique flatware that I purchased from eBay. I have two sets because my dining room table seats ten and my kitchen table seats six. I have two 8-piece sets to accommodate both tables, as well as gold serving utensils. I was unable to find matching sets, but no one seems to notice the slight difference in pattern unless I point it out to them. The flatware is hand-wash only, but I don't mind since I only use them a few times a year.
I like the traditional floral-style flatware handles, but I've found that it is hard to find a gold flatware set with gold butter-knife blades. So many of the floral gold flatware sets that I have found have a silver blade with a gold handle! I prefer for the entire butter knife to be gold. It CAN be found if you look hard enough! It definitely requires some patient searching though!
Glass Domes
I'll tell you right now, the exact glass domes pictured are hard to find because they are no longer manufactured. But that being said, I didn't even know they existed until they were already discontinued. I was able to find them on eBay. They are called Southern Living Willow House Amelia Thimble Domes. It took a whole lot of searching for me to even figure that out, after seeing them in a photo with no identification at all. If you have an eBay account, you can enter any combination of those search terms and set alerts to be notified if anyone posts some for sale. I had the best luck finding multiple sets under the search terms "Amelia Thimble Domes" or "Willow House Thimble Domes."
However, there are so many other similar options! If you don't like any of the ones I linked above, here are some search terms you might try to see what other options are out there: mini class cloche, cupcake dome, or mini glass dome. If the products I linked above had been available when I was originally searching for the Amelia Thimble Domes, I would have bought them instead of searching so hard for the Willow House discontinued domes! If anyone buys the ones linked above, please send me a picture so I can be excited with you!! :)
In case anyone is wondering what's inside of the glass domes, I have miniature Christmas ornament bulbs and a sprig of faux-boxwood from a faux-boxwood garland I bought at A.C. Moore craft store and pulled apart into small clusters.
Red Plaid Stag Table Runner
I bought this table runner a few years ago from World Market, and although it is no longer available, I have linked some similar products I found in a search. My table seats ten and it has an extension piece in, so it is a huge table!! This same table runner is too long for my 5' kitchen table, but is dwarfed on this mammoth table. I don't mind though. I love to showcase how beautiful the table is and try not to cover it up too much. The exact table is linked above! It's my favorite piece of furniture in the whole house--alllll the heart eyes!!!
A Few Pictures From Christmas Day...
Christmas Dinner this year was turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, small dinner rolls, stuffing, and spicy hoppin' john. For desert we had a variety of homemade Christmas cookies.
